The study was undertaken to evaluate the expansion of bank branches as well as growth in total advances (including agriculture advances) and total deposits based on secondary data for the last 8 years (2008-09 to 2015-16) collected from lead bank (Central bank of India). The number of branches increased substantially from it base year which was good indicator of financial inclusion. Advances (including agriculture) and deposits were also increased at highly significant rate indicated that demand for loan increased over the period of time. Some of measures to improve the performance of Lead Bank included cooperation by member banks and the scheme should be continued to accelerate financial inclusion in the non-banking areas of the district.

Advances, bank branches, deposits, lead bank scheme.
